The Set is German artist Peter Wächtler’s meticulous and detached account of his experience as an extra on the set of Bryan Singer's 2008 historical thriller Valkyrie. The film recounts the story of the attempt by senior Wehrmacht officers to assassinate Hitler in 1944. It gave rise to various controversies, particularly regarding its aesthetic choices and the casting of Tom Cruise, a Scientologist, to play Colonel Claus von Stauffenberg.
This ethnographic-style account comes with 9 ballpoint pen drawings.
