Biennale de Venise 2013

In 2013, the project of (SIC) is selected by the Ministry of Culture to represent the Fédération Wallonie-Bruxelles at the 55th Venice Biennale, Off section.
This project consists in the organisation of an artist's residency in the city of Venice, dedicated to fifteen artists from the French-speaking community of Belgium. These artists come to Venice to stay, one by one, for about ten days, between June 1st and September 30th, 2013, in order to create a new work, to be released in a book, published by the end of the project.
In addition, the artists contribute to a specific website during the all project, with images, texts, films and drawings uploaded anonymously, creating a collective and multifaceted portrait of the city and its imaginary.
The present book gather, alternatively, the pages created individually by the artists, and the pages created collectively, in the continuity of the website's principle. It proposes transitions between aesthetics and places.
